New Attacks on the Science of Climate Change

Are you surprised that there are people who don’t believe that humans are responsible for climate change? “There is no scientific consensus on the human role in climate change,” says Joseph Bast, president of the Heartland Institute. Mr. Bast also claims that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is “not a credible source of science or economics.” There you have it!

Chapter Calls for ExCom Nominations (2017)

The Atlantic Chapter Executive Committee (ExCom) sets Sierra Club conservation policy in New York State and administers the Chapter. The Chapter ExCom meets in person four times a year and has conference calls several times a year.
 
Some ExCom members are chosen by their local Groups. Others, the nine at-large delegates, are elected by the statewide Chapter membership for two-year terms.

Fracked Methane Gas is an Immense Climate Change Threat

While the fossil fuel industry continues to label methane “clean” fuel, New York State has recently taken steps to recognize the dangers inherent in this gas. New York’s actions are in opposition to the recent attempts by the federal government to ignore and suppress studies of the issue.
