At the October 22, 2016 Chapter Executive Committee (ExCom) meeting, the following Resolution was adopted:
"The Chapter ExCom will support and encourage local Sierra Club Groups to obtain official commitments from cities, other municipalities, and large institutions to commit to 100% renewable energy."

The Atlantic Chapter has consistently backed the development of renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy conservation. It did much to influence the NY Energy Plan, Reforming the Energy Vision plan, the Clean Energy Standard, and the development of the Blueprint for Offshore Wind.
